GuardBot ("the bot", "the service") is operated by Siedro Productions ("we", "us"). These terms are an agreement between us and anyone who adds GuardBot to a Discord server, buys a plan, or uses its commands ("you").
GuardBot runs on Discord. Discord's own Terms of Service and Community Guidelines apply to everything you do there, in addition to these terms. Nothing here changes your agreement with Discord.
GuardBot is a moderation and utility bot. Its main job is to watch for slurs and, at the level each server chooses, profanity in messages, and to respond — by reporting to the server's staff, and on paid plans by deleting the message and timing out the person who sent it. It also provides music playback, a server template builder, moderation tools, and a set of community and utility commands, all listed in /help.
The person who adds the bot to a server, and anyone with the Manage Server permission there, controls how it is configured in that server. We treat instructions from those people as instructions from the server.
You must be old enough to use Discord where you live (13 or older, and older in some countries). You must have the authority to add the bot to any server you add it to and to accept these terms on that server's behalf.
Free tier. On the free tier the bot still scans messages against the slur list and posts a report to the server's mod-log with buttons for staff to delete or mute by hand. Nothing happens automatically.
Trial. A server that adds the bot for the first time gets the paid features for 14 days at no charge. When the trial ends the server returns to the free tier unless it is covered by a plan. Trials are one per server.
Plans. Paid plans are sold to a person and come with a number of "seats". Each seat covers one server, linked with /premium link by someone with Manage Server there, and can be moved between servers. The current tiers, prices and seat counts are shown by /premium plans and may change for new purchases; a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
What a plan unlocks is listed by /premium status. We may add features to a tier at any time and may, with notice, move or remove a feature; if we remove a feature from a plan you have paid for, you may cancel and receive a pro-rated refund for the unused part of that period.
Plans are billed monthly in advance. Where a plan is bought through Discord's own store, Discord handles the payment, renewal, cancellation and refund process under its payment terms, and we never see your card details. Where a plan is bought directly from us through a payment provider, the same applies to that provider.
You can cancel at any time; the plan stays active until the end of the period already paid for and does not renew. If a plan lapses, the servers it covered return to the free tier — their settings, records and history are kept, and are unlocked again if the plan is renewed.
If something goes wrong — you were charged and did not receive the plan, or the bot was unavailable for a substantial part of a billing period — contact us within 30 days and we will put it right, with a refund where appropriate. Refunds are not otherwise available for partial months, or because a server chose not to use the features it paid for.
The bot's detection is automated. It matches messages against a maintained word list, at the strictness level your server has chosen, and it includes techniques for catching disguised spellings. Like any such system it can miss things and it can flag things that were harmless in context. Your server's staff remain responsible for moderation decisions; the mod-log report includes a "wrong call" button that reverses the action, removes the strike, and allow-lists the word for that server.
The word list ships with the bot and is curated by us from public datasets. It is not a statement that any particular word is offensive in every context, and your server can switch off whole categories, add its own allowed words, or turn the filter off entirely.
Timeouts are applied through Discord's own timeout feature, which caps at 28 days and can be lifted by any moderator with the Moderate Members permission. The bot never bans anyone automatically.
The music commands play audio from third-party sources at your request. We do not host that content and make no claim about your right to play it in a given server; that is your responsibility, as it would be with any other player. We may restrict or remove sources at any time, including at a rights holder's request.

We aim to keep the bot online at all times but do not guarantee it. Discord outages, hosting problems and maintenance will occasionally take it offline. While it is offline, no messages are scanned and no actions are taken. We may change, add or remove features, commands and word-list entries at any time.
You can remove the bot from a server at any time from Discord's server settings. Removing it stops all scanning immediately; what happens to the server's stored data is described in the Privacy Policy.
We may remove the bot from a server, or refuse service to a person, if these terms are broken, if Discord requires it, or if continuing would expose us to legal risk. Where practical we will say why. If we remove the bot from a server covered by a paid plan for reasons other than a breach of these terms, we will refund the unused part of the current period.
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any warranty that it will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free, or fit for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Siedro Productions is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, revenue or goodwill, arising from the use of or inability to use the service — including moderation actions the bot took or failed to take. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the three months before the claim arose, or, if you have paid nothing, to zero.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranties or liability to be excluded; where that applies, the exclusions above apply only as far as the law permits, and you may have rights these terms cannot take away.
We may update these terms. Small corrections take effect when published here. For changes that materially affect your rights or a paid plan, we will give at least 14 days' notice through the bot (for example a notice to the server owner) before they take effect. Continuing to use the bot after that date means you accept the new terms; if you do not, remove the bot and cancel any plan.
These terms are governed by the laws of the place where Siedro Productions is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, and any dispute will be brought in the courts there — except that consumers keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where they live. Before any formal step, we ask that you contact us; most problems can be sorted out by email in a few days.
